Bast is the Egyptian Goddess and Protector of cats, woman and children.

She is Goddess of sunrise.

Her Goddess duty changed over the years - she is also known as a goddess of love, fertility, birth, music and dance. Cat or lioness war Goddess and protector of the lands; Mistress of happiness and bounty.

She is related to perfumes - her son Nefertem, solar god, was a god of perfumes and alchemy which supports this.
